Job Description: As an accountant you will responsible for: • Maintaining the Credit Unions accounting records and reports, ensuring that they are in compliance with generally accepted accounting practices (GAAP) and the Credit Unions accounting practices. • Preparing various account reports as required and performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned. • Analyzing, balancing and reconciling assigned general ledger and subsidiary ledger accounts daily, weekly and monthly as required. • Reviewing close of business reports and verifying the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications. • Assuring the clearing accounts balance daily and preparing summary journal vouchers and verify that all other journal vouchers and cash received have been properly balanced and authorized. • Setting-up and running all prepaid, FASB and fixed asset items in the depreciation program. • Posting and reconciling the subsidiary records for the accrued income and expense accounts • Preparing, paying and filing all account payable for the credit union. Research and resolve discrepancies. • Preparing necessary tax documents monthly and quarterly.
Skills/Requirements • BS in Accounting or related field preferred. • Two to five years of similar or related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • Exceptional research, analytical and problem solving skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and the internet required.
